Cardiac cases include heart transplantation, VAD implantations, and minimally invasive cases. Thoracic cases include thoracotomies as well as VATS procedures. Intraoperative responsibilities include first assisting, endoscopic vein harvesting, median sternotomy and sternotomy closure. Postoperative responsibilities include acute ICU management, performing invasive procedures such as central venous access, swan ganz insertions, chest tube insertion, thoracentesis, and IABP removal. Also an ARNP Manager is needed to coordinate the worker's comp program. Will handle complex cases with TPA and rehab counselors. Post exposure follow-ups with communicable disease; pertussis, TB, bloodborn pathogens. Will be in charge of vaccination program.
